In your mid-40s? 40tude strongly recommends that you are screened regularly for colon cancer

Please don't put off getting yourself screened for colon cancer.  Heightened awareness of colon cancer is essential, particularly for anyone over 45.

High quality CT Colonography (CT scanner based screening method) and colonoscopy are the most accurate methods for examining the colon for precursor polyps and cancer. The NHS is not able to offer these forms of screening to the whole population but that shouldn't stop you considering adding them to your screening programme.

40tude strongly recommends that you are screened regularly for colon cancer from your mid-40s and we hope George Alagiah's story will inspire you also to take action now to arrange to be screened for this type of cancer, which is preventable if the signs are detected early:

Don't put off being screened - it's easier than you think!

We're excited to be able to show you a first hand account of just how easy CT Colonography screening can be.  Colonoscopy and accredited CT Colongraphy are currently the 'gold standards' of bowel screening and 40tude is working to help make CT Colonography (CTC) more widely accessible throughout the UK.  Please take a moment to watch this short video and consider including CTC in your screening programme.
