40tude's very first fundraising challenge was a cycle ride from London to Paris in 2011. Since then we've tackled many iconic routes and climbs throughout Europe, following in the treads of the pros. In addition we've organised six Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) Marathons on the River Thames - a mass paddle over 26 miles.
In September 2019 we will be taking on our ninth Cycle Challenge, this year riding across southern Spain from Antequera to historic Granada. We’re excited also to be offering not just one but two new Adventure Challenges for 2020: one a summit of Mount Elgon in Uganda from 17-25 January 2020 and the other our Wadi Rum Challenge in Jordan in February 2020.
More details of our fundraising challenges - and others being undertaken independently by our supporters - can be found below. If you are planning your own challenge this year we would love to know also!
40tuders take on the Ride100
Congratulations to 40tude Trustee Jonny Aucamp and his son Oliver who completed this year’s Prudential RideLondon-Surrey Classic challenge on 4th August. The pair rode 100 miles on that Sunday, successfully navigating the thousands of other cyclists taking part in this ride (including St. Mark’s Dr. Michele Marshall and Jason Bacon, Chief Executive of St. Mark’s Hospital Foundation).
An amazing achievement, all the more so given that although Jonny is an experienced cyclist who has taken part in many of 40tude’s cycle challenges, the same could not be said of Oliver, who just a week before the ride had rarely ridden a bike outdoors! Thanks to their courage they have raised a fantastic £3,600 for 40tude. If you would like to support them there is still time; their fundraising page can be found at: https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/OliverandJonnyAucamp
