40tuder completes epic one-day cycle race

Congratulations to Andrew Peterson who in June completed a non-stop 300km cycle ride from Milan to San Remo in support of 40tude and St. Mark’s Hospital. As if this was not enough of a challenge in itself, he set himself the goal of completing this in under 10 hours and most generously personally trebling the donations pledged if he made this time. It took Andrew just 9 hours, 46 minutes and 57 seconds to cross the line, a truly fantastic achievement.

“My dad died of colon cancer,” says Andrew. “He should be alive today and I still miss him. I am proud to work with 40tude and St Mark’s Hospital, the world leader in funding a cure for this disease. This one day race from Milan to San Remo was a long way and a lot of toil and sweat went into the training. I am hugely indebted to all those who sponsored me, helping to beat colon cancer.”

So far Andrew’s fundraising total stands at a magnificent £8,650. If you would like to add to this total please go to https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/andrew-peterson1

Meanwhile we’re excited that the baton is set to be taken up soon by the 55 intrepid riders who have signed up to tackle the hills of Spain during 40tude’s La Vuelta a España tour in September. Over three and a half days the peloton will be riding a historic route from Antequera to Granada, with the option to take on greater distances and ascents than on any of our previous rides. Good luck everyone!
